Day 15: Restoring Integrity

• Pray for healing for our citizens to remain prayerful and watchful against apathy, gullibility, idolatry of politicians, and political dynasties.

• Pray for healing for our politicians to become true public servants instead of lording over people. We speak against their manipulation of people using financial dole-outs (“ayuda”) instead of real programs that address needs, and we speak against greed over public funds and power through political or family dynasties.

• Pray for healing for our voters to be discerning instead of being easily manipulated by creative bribery of politicians. May they not vote for the same traditional politicians, popular and entertainment personalities, or those involved in corruption and human rights abuses like extrajudicial killings (EJK).

• Pray for healing for the dysfunctional democracy in the Philippines, where citizens must function as the designated sovereign Filipino people. May government officials adhere to the constitution at all times, and may there be watchfulness over the President and Executive Department in addressing national problems with institutional programs instead of mere financial assistance (“limos” or “ayuda”). Pray for vigilance over legislators in Congress and the Senate to prevent abuse of public funds, over-allocation of confidential funds, and the removal of essential funds for healthcare, education, and other needs. May enabling laws, especially on political dynasties, be implemented.
